CSA International can help you get the marks you need to sell your qualified products in Europe

CSA International can assist you in the evaluation of your products to meet European requirements.

This gives you a convenient, ONE-STOP SERVICE advantage over other service providers and further speeds your time to market. CSA International is your complete source for global testing and evaluation.

CE Mark

The CE Mark is mandatory for marketing your products within Europe. The CE Mark indicates to European Authorities your claims of product compliance with the applicable Directives.

CE Marking is your product's "passport" to 18 European countries, including:

European Union (EU): Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom.

EFTA members: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland.

Not only can CSA help you verify your claims for the CE Marking you need - we are also equipped to evaluate a wide range of products to many of the European Directives.

These products include the following:

  • Gas Appliances
  • Hospital Beds
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

Hazardous Locations Product Certification

CB Scheme

If you manufacture electrical or electronic products, CSA International can show you how the Certification Body (CB) Scheme can open doors for your products worldwide. We test your product to the requirements of CB member countries and issue a CB Test Certificate and Test Report for qualified products. We then help you submit the CB Test Certificate and Test Report to the appropriate National Certification Body, for product certification in that country.

CSA International was the first North American certification body to participate in the Scheme. Today we issue CB Test Reports and Test Certificates for the following product categories:

  • IEC 60065, Audio/Video
  • IEC 60257, Installation Protective Equipment
  • IEC 60335 Series, Appliances, Gaming Machines
  • IEC 60342, Fans
  • IEC 60491, Electronic Equipment
  • IEC 60570, Track Lighting
  • IEC 60598 Series, Luminaires
  • IEC 60601 Series, Medical Equipment
  • IEC 60670, Electrical Enclosures
  • IEC 60691, Fuse Links
  • IEC 60730 Series, Controls for Appliances
  • IEC 60742, Safety Isolating Transformers
  • IEC 60745 Series, Portable Tools
  • IEC 60920, Ballasts
  • IEC 60922, Ballasts

By working with CSA International for all your hazardous and ordinary location evaluations, you can have certifications completed in a flexible and responsive manner.

IECEx Scheme

CSA International has been officially recognised as an Accepted Certification Body and Ex Testing Laboratory to operate in the IECEx (International Electrotechnical Commission Explosive) Scheme. The IECEx is an international certification scheme for electrical equipment used in explosive atmospheres (Ex equipment) including process control, industrial, signal and communication equipment. This means that we can help you demonstrate that you meet the requirements of the IECEx Scheme.

By joining the IECEx Scheme, CSA can now generate assessment test reports (ATRs) on Ex equipment that are accepted by certification bodies in other active IECEx Scheme member countries. These member countries include Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Korea, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, U.S.A., Yugoslavia.

ATEX Directive

The ATEX Directive applies to products sold within the European Community. CSA International can provide you with one-stop service for hazardous location evaluation for the ATEX Directive.

Our relationship with DEKRA, a Notified Body for the ATEX Directive, enables us to test and evaluate hazardous location equipment. CSA employees have been authorised by DEKRA to perform evaluations and ATEX audits so that we can provide complete coverage under the ATEX Directive.
